Chosen Story

I've chosen to the Kaleidoscope by Ray Bradbury. I'm interested in figuring out how to make a story with very little action and mostly dialogue and introspection into an interesting short comic.

Comic Inspiration

Some comic art/layouts that inspire me.

Heart in a Box (Written by Kelly Thompson, illustrated by Meredith McClaren)

Incredible palettes and expressive break out panels.

In Real Life (Cory Doctorow and Jen Wang)

The colour shift between the real world and the game world is clear without being over the top, and the art integrates computer UI elements with the illustrations wonderfully.

Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong (Written by Prudence Shen, illustrated by Faith Erin Hicks)

A good example of clarity with just black, white, and grey.

Bandette (Written by Paul Tobin, illustrated by Colleen Coover)

Through the Woods (collection of comic) (Emily Carroll)

Horror stories with an extremely good use of colour to make atmosphere.

Deadendia (Hamish Steel)

Adventure Time: Seeing Red (written by Kate Leth, illustrated by Zachary Sterling)

Valor (anthology)

(Eggchild by Sara Goetter)

(What Fear Said by Katie and Steven Shanahan)

(Vasilisa by Kadi Fedoruk)

The Other Side (anthology)

(Tierra Verde by Margaret Kirchner)

(En-bae and Boo by Sfe R. Monster)

On A Sunbeam (Tillie Walden)

I adore the use of colour blocks and solid black in this comic. It sets an incredible tone and mood in each page.
